Henrietta Plessas
Henrietta.plessas@gmail.com
(415)246-0986
Henrietta grew up with the love of dancing starting from a very young age. Her mother put her in Ballet classes which she truly enjoyed, but knew something was missing. As Henrietta endlessly watched Fred Astaire films, she longed to be able to dance like THAT!!
At the age of 16, Henrietta moved on her own from England to San Francisco. The person she was staying with insisted on two things from her: running each day and learning to ballroom dance. Well, needless to say, Henrietta “walked” every morning (and said she ran), but fell in LOVE with ballroom dancing. At the age of 18, she started dancing at the Metronome Ballroom in San Francisco, and at the age of 20, she was teaching there under the instruction of Diane Jarmalow for Ballroom and Latin and Rosemary Zachary for swing. With a long beak in between, Henrietta resumed her career of teaching swing, ballroom and Latin at Dance Arts ballroom San Rafael. And, with her passion for West Coast Swing, she has the privilege and honor to call Kelly Casanova (look her up, too many titles to list!), her Mentor and coach; substituting for her when asked and teaming with her to teach the beginning class before her monthly parties. Henrietta has now fulfilled her dreams of living in her Twain Harte cabin which she and her family have been coming to for years. Henrietta can’t wait to share her love of teaching and dancing with you all and hope you will soon join her on the dance floor . . .
Henrietta teaches on Tuesdays, but will be gone RVing this winter. Check for her classes under the above tab, “Classes”, or give her a call!
